CORE12.01 Kicks Off: From Research to Real-World Climate Impact
The journey has begun. CORE12.01 — a Horizon Europe Coordination and Support Action (GA 101213513) — officially launched in June 2025, opening a two-year window to help European climate-tech researchers turn promising results into market-ready solutions.
Running until May 2027, CORE12.01 is coordinated by Anthology Ventures (Bulgaria) together with three dynamic partners: CERTH (Greece), Social Innovation Exchange (UK), and THINGS (Sweden). The consortium will work with researchers from across Europe — particularly in moderate and emerging innovation ecosystems — to strengthen their entrepreneurial capacity and commercialisation readiness in climate-tech and deep-tech.
At the heart of the project sits the Responsive Ecosystem Fellowship Programme. Designed to move researchers from scientific excellence to commercial readiness, the Fellowship combines training, mentoring, coaching, and structured engagement with the wider innovation ecosystem. Fellows will learn how to read market signals, build the right partnerships, and develop concrete pathways for bringing climate-tech to life.
That ecosystem dimension is what makes CORE12.01 distinct. Climate technologies rarely succeed on technical merit alone. Their deployment depends on social acceptance, regulatory clarity, market validation, and access to the right partners — corporates, civil society, policymakers, and investors. CORE12.01 connects researchers with all four, creating space for more responsive and impact-driven innovation.
To support this work, the project will deliver two practical tools: the Responsive Ecosystem Toolbox (RET) and the Responsive Innovation Monitor,an AI-powered platform and tool (RIM). Together, they help researchers map stakeholders, identify needs, set milestones, and track progress against clear KPIs. Over the next 24 months, CORE12.01 aims to empower 30 Innovation Fellows, support them in building Personalised Commercialisation Masterplans, and open meaningful conversations with corporates, investors, and public authorities. The journey will culminate in a Showcase & Pitching event, where Fellows present their work to the people best positioned to help it scale.
